Papa Salt started simply: five gin-loving friends, one of them happens to be Margot Robbie, a big kitchen table in LA, and a question "why can't we find the gins we love here?" So, we decided to make one. Five years and 59 recipes later, we had it - a sun-soaked, easy-drinking coastal gin made in Byron Bay, celebrating native Australian botanicals: waxflower, roasted wattle seed, peppercorn, hibiscus, and citrus peel.

But the name is where the magic lives. While travelling the Sri Lankan coastline, we crossed paths (in a bar) with a man from the Gold Coast who went by the name of Papa Salt who stopped us in our tracks - unhurried, salty, completely at ease. He was the living embodiment of the Australian slang for a beach bum: a salty sea dog. So, we named the gin after him. He was just a bloke living his best life by the ocean who reminded us exactly what this gin was supposed to feel like.
